Take this opportunity to come join us and make time for art. Birthday month is upon us! This March, ArtSnacks is turning six, so we’re celebrating six years of discovering art supplies and spreading inspiration.

On Sunday, March 17th, from 1:00-4:00pm, ArtSnacks Ambassador Michelle is throwing a special birthday Snack'n Draw party at the Artist & Craftsman Supply Washington DC store! Join us for a whole lot of drawing, mingling, and snacking!

We'll have tables and seats available for you to connect with fellow ArtSnackers, along with some art supplies. If you'd like to bring your March box or a work in progress, go for it! Enjoy some birthday snacks and doodle along with us. This is a free event, but please RSVP if you plan to join us.

Tickets for this event are $40 per person and include: drawing supplies, three hours of prompt-led drawing by Sarah, and a pizza dinner at Italian Family Pizza restaurant after the museum visit. Dinner will go until about 6:30PM.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes. The museum only allows graphite drawing in the galleries, so plan accordingly if you prefer to use your own pencils/sketchbook.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. day, come join in an intergenerational community to draw your hero. We’ll provide drawing supplies & snacks, you bring your creativity. No special skills needed…you’re also welcome to just join us for the snacks & conversation. This ArtSnacks gathering will also include a presentation on the history of representation of heroes in graphic novels & comics.

Folks of all ages are welcome, however, children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

The ArtSnacks Pop-Up Snack’n Draw is back! We’ve partnered with our friends at Artist & Craftsman to host our sixth ArtSnacks event.

There will be some art supplies on the tables if you feel the urge to doodle, but if you’d like to bring your December Box, go for it! There will also be snacks, so you don’t have to draw on an empty stomach.

Building an arts-based community is a huge focus for ArtSnacks. On Saturday, November 10th, we’re stepping out of our studios and into a local museum to bring creative minds together! Join Sarah, co-founder of ArtSnacks, for a walkthrough of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and a drawing session in the galleries.

Admission is FREE for the FIRST 10 PEOPLE to show up at the front entrance (Huntington Ave entrance) at 2pm on the dot!

A little about the museum: Today the MFA is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world; the collection encompasses nearly 500,000 works of art. We welcome more than one million visitors each year to experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs.

The Museum has undergone significant expansion and change in recent years; 2010 marked the opening of the Art of the Americas Wing, with four levels of American art from ancient to modern. In 2011, the west wing of the Museum was transformed into the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art, with new galleries for contemporary art and social and learning spaces. Improved and new galleries for the MFA collections are always opening.

In honor of #inktober2018 we will gather to create wearable ink creations...Your Bay Area ArtSnacks Ambassador will bring supplies & buttonmakers (and treats from the cafe)...you bring your creative ideas! If you're participating in Inktober, it will also be a fun time to share ideas with other creative folks.

Join us for some sketching around The Fort Worth Modern October 20th! Well be doing some drawing exercises and getting inspiration from the exhibits. ***THE FIRST 10 get their admission covered by your Artsnacks ambassador, Christy. Kids under 18 get free admission.

Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by completing one ink drawing per day for the entire month. 31 days, 31 drawings.

This year, we’re kicking off the beginning of Inktober with an unforgettable party! ArtSnacks has teamed up with five different art supply brands to put on an event in the Flatiron neighborhood of New York City. Join us for an evening of drawing, inking, snacking, and much more.

Ever wanted to meet the founder of Inktober? You’re in luck — Jake Parker will be attending!

Building an arts-based community is a huge focus for ArtSnacks. On Friday, September 21st, we’re stepping out of our studios and into a local museum to bring creative minds together! Join Lee and Sarah, co-founders of ArtSnacks, for a walkthrough of The National Portrait Gallery and a short drawing session in the galleries.

Since the museum closes at 7 pm, there will be an informal meet up after at a nearby location (which is currently TBD). There we can connect, doodle, and maybe even grab a snack/drink!

A little about the museum: The National Portrait Gallery was authorized and founded by Congress in 1962 with the mission to acquire and display portraits of "men and women who have made significant contributions to the history, development, and culture of the people of the United States." Today, the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery continues to narrate the multi-faceted and ever-changing story of America through the individuals who have shaped its culture. Through the visual arts, performing arts, and new media, the Portrait Gallery presents poets and presidents, visionaries and villains, actors and activists whose lives form our national identity.

A little about the museum: The Contemporary Austin reflects the spectrum of contemporary art through exhibitions, commissions, education, and the collection. The Vision: The Contemporary Austin aspires to be the contemporary art museum for Austin and an essential part of city life. Through its unique combination of urban and outdoor sites, The Contemporary will embody an eclectic and collaborative spirit.

In honor of World Photo Day, we'll be creating pieces inspired by vintage photos... your ArtSnacks ambassador will supply the vintage photos & your snack of choice from the cafe...just bring your creativity!

Join us for a special ArtSnacks event at the Smithsonian American Art Museum - SAAM! We'll meet at 4:00 pm in the main lobby (F Street entrance) and after we've all said hello to one another & made a plan, we'll head out to the museum to explore and find some inspiration to sketch. We'll plan to meet at 6:30 pm back in the main lobby to share our progress! 

Admission to the museum is FREE! 

Museum Guidelines: Drawing boards and sketch pads may be no larger than 18 x 24 inches and the museum allows “dry” media only: pencils, wax crayon, conte crayon, and erasers. Pens, loose ink, fountain pens, oil crayon, paint (including watercolors), easels or stands, and charcoal or pastel in stick form are not allowed.

Also, sketching is permitted only in permanent collection galleries and the Luce Foundation Center, not in special exhibitions.
